Winifred Joy Sherwin, 95 of Athens, Alabama, died Monday, November 27, 2023 at Limestone Health Facility.

Mrs. Sherwin was born May 30, 1928 in Lauderdale County, Alabama, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Anderson and she was a homemaker.

There will be a 11am Graveside Service Wednesday at Bethel Cemetery in Anderson with Bill Barlow officiating. No visitation is planned.

Survivors: Daughter, Deborah (Drayson) McCann of Athens. Several Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by: Parents, Louis and Iva McConnell. Husband, Don Sherwin.

I remember her and this family so well from the Decatur congregation. She and Harold were such a great couple. They were so close they would often finish each other's sentences. They would pick on each other sometimes but I know it was done in love. I am sad they are both gone. They cross my mind a lot. I hope to see them again someday in the resurection.
