Sarah
Black Mitchell, 89 of Athens, Alabama, died Monday, June 9, 2025 at her
residence.
Mrs.
Mitchell was born July 18, 1935 in Limestone County and she was a member of
Riddles Chapel Methodist Church.
There
will be a 11AM Wednesday Graveside Service at Poplar Creek Cemetery with Jerry
Batts officiating. No visitation is planned. Spry Funeral Home in Athens is
directing. Grandsons will be Pallbearers. Nephews will be the Honorary
Pallbearers.
Survivors:
Daughters: Michelle Murata of Athens and Jan Estes of Athens; Brother: Roger
Black of Athens; Six Grandchildren; Eleven Great Grandchildren; Preceded in
death by: Husband: Olden Wayne Mitchell; Parents: Thomas Emmet & Leona
Rogers Black; Two Sisters, Two Brothers.
Memorials
may be made to St. Jude’s.
