James Bob Reed Jr., 53 of Athens, Alabama, died Friday, June 6, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Reed was born July 2, 1971 in Detroit, Michigan, he was a Veteran of Kentucky National Guard and he was retired from many occupations. Services will be 1pm Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Brian Miller, James Reed, Erica Banks and Brittany McBay officiating. Visitation Wednesday 11am until 1pm at Spry Funeral Home. Survivors: Wife, Lee Ann Reed of Athens. Father, James Bob (Debra) Reed Sr. of Hazard, KY. Mother, Mavis Crawford of Athens. Son, James Lloyd Lee (Brittany) Reed of Athens. Daughters, Erica Marie (Jacob) Banks of Athens and Brittany Nichole (Shannon) McBay of Houston, TX. Grandchildren: Luke & Miles McBay, Jayce & Annie Tucker, Dolly Banks & Jaxon Reed. Sister, Kim Wood of Athens. Five Step-brothers, One Step-sister. Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by: Brothers, Noah Reed and Jason Reed. Grandson, Opie Reed.
