Mahlon Hughes age 80 of Athens passed away Friday at
Limestone Nursing Rehabilitation in Athens.
Mr. Hughes was born December 22,
1944 in Prospect, Tennessee. He was a retired gas fitter and attended Salem
Springs Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be 10 am Tuesday at Mitchell
Cemetery in Anderson, no visitation planned.
Survivors include his Son, Ricky
(Leighann) Hughes of Athens. Grandchildren, Coleby (Krista) Hughes. Shaw Hughes
and Nicole (Andrew) Hall. Three Great Grandchildren. Brother, Jerry Hughes of
Mobile, Alabama. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Mr. Hughes was preceded in death
by his Wife, Betty Hughes. Daughters, Linda Hughes and Melissa Massey.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Rick while he was a patient at Huntsville Hospital. His family surrounded him with such love and warmth. I will remember him and his family for their kindness and compassion.
