Allen Todd, age 80, met his Lord Jesus Christ on February 6, 2025.
Born on August 12, 1944, in Scotts Hill, Henderson County, Tennessee to Edwin Cleo and Marena Moody Todd, he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry Todd.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan Scott Todd, sister Joyce Todd of Jackson, Tennessee, and brother Jackie Todd of Lexington, Tennessee, daughter Stefani Vinkemeier (Robert) of Middletown, Delaware, and son Brian (Sarah) of Knoxville, Tennessee.Allen also leaves behind grandchildren Gabrielle of Ames, Iowa, and Max Vinkemeier of Delaware, and Matthew Todd of Knoxville.
He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a B.S. in Chemistry and was in the United States Army, with service in Vietnam.Allen began his computer programming career at Proctor and Gamble in Jackson, Tennessee.He also worked for Industrial Nucleonics in Columbus, Ohio, and Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, Tennessee.He retired as a Systems Analyst from TVA at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant in Athens, Alabama.
Allen and Susan loved to travel, visiting thirty states, as well as Canada, Mexico, Italy, Switzerland, and the British Isles.He also liked to read and watch sporting events. He was a member of Athens First Baptist Church.Allen loved his God, his family, and his friends.His family wants to thank everyone, including his special caregivers Brenda and Carolyn, for their prayers and assistance.
Services will be held at Spry Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama, on Saturday, February 15.
Visitation will begin at12:00, with funeral service to follow at 2:00.Interment will be at Thatch-Mann Cemetery, Athens.
Donations in his memory can be made to First Baptist Church in Athens, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or The Parkinson’s Foundation.
