Joyce Anna Tucker age 84 of Athens died Saturday at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Mrs. Tucker was born January 30, 1941 in Limestone County. She was a graduate of Clements High School, a retired nurse for Dr. Hand in Athens. She was a lifelong caregiver and caretaker to family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Clint and Aileen McElyea. Her Sister, Karen and Brother Randall.
She is survived by her Son, Les (Karen) Tucker. Granddaughters, Anna (Jamie) Nunn and Elizabeth (Corey) Silcox. Grandson, Lee (Savannah) Hodges. Great Grandchildren, Holland Nunn, Neal Silcox, Katherine Silcox and Caroline Silcox. Sisters, Agatha McElyea, Barbara Swanner and Betty Tidwell. Brother, Phillip (Tina) McElyea. Sister In Law, Cynthia McElyea. Nephews, John, Brad, Jason, Jeff, Jacob, Johnathan and Jeremiah. Nieces, Parian and Jennifer.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday at Spry Funeral Home in Athens.

Some of my greatest memories as a young boy were made spending time with this family, the cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. My family’s thoughts are with you and your family. Love you.

Joyce treated me like I was one of her children. Going to ball games, concerts and vacations were only a few things she included me in with her family. I had not spoken to her in years, but she always was remembered fondly by me and what fun she was when I was a young boy.
