Learmon Stanley Britton, 92 of Athens, Alabama,
died Sunday, April 20, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Britton was born to Frank
Britton and Bessie Baucom Britton on April 9, 1933 in Limestone County,
Alabama.
Services will be 11am Thursday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens
with Kasey Harbin officiating, burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation is
Thursday 9:30 until service at Spry Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of
70 years, Wynell Glanton Britton, two children, Andy Britton (Shannon) of
Montgomery and Emily Britton of Athens. Three Grandchildren, Jackson Britton
(Ashley) of Montgomery, AL, Ivy Harbin of Athens and Henry Britton of Houston,
Texas. One Sister, Faye Chandler (John) of Rogersville, AL and several Nieces
and Nephews.
Preceded in death by siblings Leamon Britton, Marie Romine and
Virginia White.
He was an active member of Northside Church of Christ. He was
owner and operator of Automotive Parts Company in Athens, Alabama for many
years and a longtime member of Athens Lions Club where he was awarded the
prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for his many years of service. He was
also a member of the Antique Engine Club. He enjoyed collecting and displaying
his antiques Engines at many shows around the surrounding area. He loved his
family and many dear friends he made along life’s journey. He will be sadly
missed by all.
