Faye Jenkins
Hogue, 84, a long-time resident of Athens but most recently of Decatur, passed
away peacefully Monday January 27th.
She was born
July 24th, 1940 to Woodrow and Willowdean Jenkins in the Coxey
Community of Limestone County.
She is
survived by one daughter, Dana Davidson (Dane) of Decatur. Four Grandsons: Cage
& Conley Davidson and Cedric & Omar Pointer, bonus Grandson Josh
Colbert (Kelsie) and bonus Great Granddaughter Laikyn Colbert. Two nieces:
Cindy Wales (Bradley) of Elkmont and Monti Swann (George) of Athens. She also
leaves behind longtime companion Charles Willis of Pulaski, TN.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel L. Hogue and Sisters Janice
Colvett and Charlotte Adams.
Ms. Hogue
was a woman of sharp wit that had a contagious laugh and a wonderfully dry
sense of humor that always kept us on our toes. Beyond her humor, she loved her
family deeply, had a servant heart, always giving selflessly to others and
spreading kindness wherever she went.
The family
would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Hogue’s dear friend and
devoted caregiver, Mary Jackson, for her unwavering support, love and kindness.
Visitation
will be Sunday February 2nd 12:30-2:00 with the service in the
chapel at 2:00. Burial will follow at Dement Cemetery.
Pallbearers
will be: George Swann, Bradley Wales, Billy Adams, Kurt Leopard, John Totten
and Freddy Leonard.
In lieu of
flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Alabama Baptist
Children’s Home, Hospice of The Valley or The Community Free Clinic of Decatur
Morgan County, organizations close to their hearts.
