Sherly Jean Ray, 57 of Tanner, Alabama, died Monday,
February 24, 2025 at her residence.
Miss Ray was born March 1, 1967 in
Jefferson County, Alabama and she was a member of Ark of Promise Apostolic
Church.
Services will be 11AM Friday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with
Ted Lankster officiating, burial in Reunion Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday 10AM
until service at Spry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jerry Skipworth, Brent
Adams, Jireh Jackson, C. J. Yarbrough, Julius Redus and Malachi Adams.
Survivors:
Parents: James & Brenda Oliver of Athens; Sisters: Shana Oliver, Robbie
Wallace, Regina (Carroll) Skipworth and Denise (Van) Lankster all of Athens;
Brother: Robert (Tabitha) Ray of Athens; Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces &
Nephews; Best Friend: Worldine Bright.
Preceded in death by:
Grandparents: William & Katie Oliver and Emeris & Ruby Herring.

Susan and family, Please know that you and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. David was a very memorable friend from long ago....one of the funnest and funniest people I've ever known. Our days on the baseball field with his wisecracks and humor will be with me forever. I share your sadness. Mark

So many memories... such a blessing to have known David and his family. Going with him to Guatemala... sitting and talking about the Lord... or just sitting... all his girls' soccer games.... messages that just resonated, "oh yes, that's right!" So good to know this is not an end but a see you someday again, in Glory.
