Pettus Sue Durham, 78 of Athens, Alabama, died Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Limestone Nursing & Rehab.

Mrs. Durham was born June 23, 1946 in Limestone County and she was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ.

Services will be 2PM Saturday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Casey Harbin and Odis Duncan officiating, burial in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is Saturday 12noon until service at Spry Funeral Home.

Survivors: Brothers: James Paul Schrimsher of Athens and Royce Schrimsher of Athens; Sisters: Nora Lindsey of Athens and Denise Schrimsher of Decatur; Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by: Husband: Spencer Durham; Son: David Durham.

Sonya and I were friends from freshman year through graduation.
We did so may things together like the senior talent show with kiss- make up and the best dance routine ever. Sonya pushed me when I needed pushed. For example going out for the MissHeath Padget...Which she won!!! The most beautiful and bravest strongest and loyal friend I could ever ask for. Her friendship was golden she was always an inspiration to me and now... She is an Angel and shines brighter than ever I am blessed for knowing her.
