David Jackson Jones age 75 of Athens passed away Saturday March 15, 2025 at Athens Limestone Hospital.
Mr. Jones was born February 6, 1950 in Franklin County Alabama. He was a member and Pastor of Cairo Church and the former Pastor of Elkmont Baptist Church.
Memorial service will be 11 am Friday, March 28, 2025 at Cairo Church with Howard Wolfe Jr. officiating, memorial donations may be made to Fighting with Hope.
He is survived by his Daughters, Anna Nelson of Madison. Mary Elizabeth Dorsch of Jacksonviile, Florida. Rachel Croom of Mobile. Sarah Crane of Mobile. Lydia Allred of Mobile and Rebekah Jones of Russellville. Nine Grandchildren. Sister, Susan Weidman of Pelham.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Hazen and Bernice Jones. Brothers, Don Hamilton, Dudley Hamilton and Dennis Jones.

Susan and family, Please know that you and the entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. David was a very memorable friend from long ago....one of the funnest and funniest people I've ever known. Our days on the baseball field with his wisecracks and humor will be with me forever. I share your sadness. Mark

So many memories... such a blessing to have known David and his family. Going with him to Guatemala... sitting and talking about the Lord... or just sitting... all his girls' soccer games.... messages that just resonated, "oh yes, that's right!" So good to know this is not an end but a see you someday again, in Glory.
