Doris Holland Higginbotham - Spry Funeral Home

Doris Holland Higginbotham, 84 of Athens, Alabama, passed away April 10, 2025 at her residence. Mrs. Higginbotham was born September 28, 1940 to Walter and Thetus Holland. Visitation will be Sunday, April 13^th, 6-9PM at Spry Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral will be 1PM, Monday, April 14^th, at West Hobbs Street Church of Christ, body will lie in state 12noon until service with Bill Irby and Jameson Steward officiating, burial in Roselawn Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Stephani Latimer (Mike), two grandchildren, Lacy Beth McMunn (Nick) and Brandt Latimer (Megan). Seven great grandchildren, Brock Newton, Breanna Smith (Matt), Presley McMunn, Regan McMunn, Sadie Glen McMunn, Shep Latimer and Caroline Latimer. Two great great granddaughters, Ellie and Josie Smith. Sister, Jane Davis. Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Higginbotham, her parents, and brother, Joe Holland. Doris was a longtime member at West Hobbs Street Church of Christ. She loved her grandchildren, family and friends, planting flowers and going to worship when she was able. A special thank you for her caregivers, Melissa Fralix and family, Ginger Colwell.
