Buford D. Swanner age 92 of Athens died Saturday at his residence. Mr. Swanner was born June 30, 1930 in Limestone County, was a retired farmer and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church in Athens.

 

Services will be 1 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with C.W. Kennedy and Pat Lawrence officiating, burial in Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be, Braxton Swanner, Chris Jewell, Daniel Jewell, Mark Jewell, Eric Jewell and Chris Lemons.

 

Mr. Swanner is survived by his Wife, Bernice Swanner of Athens. Daughters, Mary (Morris) Jewell of Elkmont. Janice (Don) Jewell of Athens. Sons, Curtis (Brenda) Swanner of Athens. Randall (Debbie) Swanner of Ardmore, Alabama. Anthony (Rhonda) Swanner of Ardmore, Alabama. Step Daughter, Juanita (Jerry) McDuffie of Gainesville, Georgia. Eighteen Grandchildren. Thirty three Great Grandchildren, and nine Great Great Grandchildren. Three Step Grandchildren. Ten Step Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Swanner was preceded in death by his Parents, Lee and Hattie Swanner. Wife of 56 years Mary Frances Swanner. Grandson, Brian Swanner. Great Grandson Michael Swanner. Step Son, Ronald Harrison. Step Grandsons, Sammy Fowler and Marty Harrison.
