Stephen Neil Pinkerton Sr. 56, of Athens, passed away Saturday August 27, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital.

Service will be 2PM Thursday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6PM until 9PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.

He was born February 24, 1966. He was a dad and a grand dad. He is survived by Father: Billy Pinkerton of Hazel Green, AL, Sons: Nathan Pinkerton of Athens, Devin Prescott of Decatur, Grandchildren: Layla Pinkerton, Colby Pinkerton Jr., Brother: Brian Pinkerton of Athens, Sister: Lori Mitchell of Ardmore, AL. He was preceded in death by: Mother: Sandra Gray, Son: Stephen Neil Pinkerton Jr., Grandmother: Miladean Slaughter.

Pallbearers will be: Nathan Pinkerton, Brian Pinkerton, Levi Montgomery, Alex Gulley, Brandon Lack and Wayne Garris. Honorary pallbearer will be Colby Pinkerton Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nathan Pinkerton for funeral expenses.

One of my favorite memories of Robert. 2019: Robert Schrimsher dances with a pig at the southbound I-65 Alabama Welcome Center near Ardmore while the Athens Dulcimers play.

I’m so sorry we lost Diane. She was so good to our family. She cared for our Dad as well as 2 brothers when they were sick and was a good friend to them all. I’m thankful for having known her.
