Thula Mae Carter 76 of Athens, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at her residence.

Service will be Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 2PM at Spry Funeral Home with Odis Duncan officiating.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

She was born January 9, 1945 in Limestone County, and was a member of Mt Carmel Church of Christ, and retired from ConAgra. She is survived by Husband: J.V. Carter of Athens, Daughter: Cynthia (Ronnie) Nordin, Son: Lynn (Gina) Moran both of Athens, Grandchildren: Hannah Harville, Robert Martin, Peyton Moran, Great Granddaughter: Chole Beth Harville, Sisters: Linda Putman of Madison, Nancy Barber of Tullahoma, TN, Brother: Roger Pitts of Athens, Several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by: Parents: Edgar and Willie Pitts, Brothers: Herbert Pitts, Larry Pitts. Pallbearers will be Lynn Moran, Peyton Moran, Robert Martin, Dustin Harville, Ronnie Nordin, and Jimmy Moran.

So sorry to hear of Tom’s death. We found out about 30 minutes ago. We cherish the great memories of Tom’s years at Hanceville FUMC. He was a great man of faith, a dedicated community servant and a special friend.
