Frank Duane Whaley, 72, of Athens, AL
passed away Jan. 9th at his residence. He died of natural causes. He
was born April 5, 1949 in Birmingham, AL to Ezra and Inez
Whaley. He served 3 tours in Vietnam earning several medals and certificates.
He served in the Air Force from from July 1968 - March
of 1973 as a weapons mechanic and was honorably discharged with the rank of
Sergeant.
There will be an 11am Graveside Service
Thursday at Roselawn Cemetery with Joel Carwile officiating.
No visitation is
planned. Spry Funeral Home in Athens is directing.
He is preceded in death by his Father,
Ezra W Whaley III and a brother, Steve Whaley.
He is survived by his children, Jeffrey
Whaley (Jana) of Grapevine TX and Mindy Hogue (Lee) of Quinlan TX and 6
grandchildren, his mother Inez Whaley of Athens, AL a brother, Johnny Whaley of
Corinth, TX and sister, Lauren Cox (Ken) of Athens, AL, several nieces and
nephews.
