J.R. Johnson - Spry Funeral Home

J.R. Johnson age 77 of Athens passed away Monday at his residence. Mr. Johnson was born November 17, 1947 in Limestone County, retired from Federal Mogul, a Vietnam Army Veteran, and a member of Cairo Church.

Survivors include his Wife, Donna Johnson of Athens. Son, Phillip Johnson of Athens. Granddaughter, Mackenzy (Peyton) Lewter of Ardmore, TN. Great Grandchildren, Jackson Lewter and Mattie Lewter.  Step Son, Tommy Steadman Jr. of Lawrenceburg, TN. Step Daughter, Christy (Eddie) Gray of Lawrenceburg, TN. Five Step Grandchildren and Five Step Great Grandchildren. Brothers, Bobby Johnson of Athens and Dwight Johnson of Summerdale, AL Sister, Marjorie Young of Athens. Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, John and Louanna Johnson. Brothers, Leon Johnson and Walton Johnson. Sister, Shirley Barnes. Pallbearers will be, Tyler Spurgeon, Chad Chandler, Eddie Gray, Billy McKinney, David Woodard and Peyton Lewter.

Services will be 2 PM Thursday in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with Brian Culbreath officiating, burial in Lentzville Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 12 noon until service at the funeral home.
