Helen Goode McBay Hutchens, 97 of Athens, Alabama,
died Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Limestone Nursing and Rehab.
Mrs. Hutchens
was born October 22, 1927 in Limestone County, she was a member of Berea
Baptist Church and she was a Homemaker.
There will be a 2:30pm Graveside
Service Friday at Poplar Creek Cemetery with Chad Pressnell officiating.
Visitation is Friday 1pm until 2pm at Spry Funeral Home in Athens.
Pallbearers
will be Brent Pressnell, Chad Pressnell, Brandon McBay, Landon Shields, Camden
Shields and Trenton Wood.
Survivors: Son, Rickie McBay of Athens. Daughters,
Patsy Shields of Athens and Peggy Pressnell of Athens. Daughter-in-law, Linda
McBay of Athens. Grandchildren, Rex Shields (Dana), Ginger Eaton (Eric), Rusty
Shields (Julie), Crystal Higginbotham, Chad Pressnell (April), Brent Pressnell
(Betsy), Brandon McBay (Julie), Whitney Wood (Clint). Sixteen Great
Grandchildren. Two Great Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Calvin and Letha Goode. Husbands, Edward McBay and
Charles Hutchens. Son, Wayne McBay. Grandson, Corey McBay. Great Granddaughter,
Mirella Shields. Sons-in-law, L.B. Shields and Steve Pressnell. Ten Brothers
and Five Sisters. Memorials may be made to Poplar Creek Cemetery

I am blessed to have gotten to meet this sweet soul. Cora’s joy and kindness was so genuine and pure, every visit I had with her left me smiling. Thoughts & prayers go out to her family, I can’t wait to celebrate in heaven with her one day!
