Thomas Lee Hammons Jr. 78 of Tuscaloosa, passed away
Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Fairhaven Rehab Center.
Graveside Service will be
Saturday January 22, 2022 at 2PM at the Athens City Cemetery.
He was born July
1, 1943 in Limestone County and a Graduate of Tanner High School, Athens
College and Emory University. He was a retired United Methodist Minister.
He is
survived by sons: Thomas Lee Hammons III of Athens, Christopher Denton Hammons
of Calera, AL, Jordan Ellington Hammons of Dallas, TX, daughter: Heather
Melissa Shockley of Denver, CO, granddaughter: Hanna Lee Hammons of Aiken, SC,
brothers: Ross J. Hammons, Dr. John R. Hammons both of Athens, sister: Carol A
Hammons of Athens, Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by: parents:
Thomas Lee Hammons Sr. and Annette Black Hammons, daughter: Shana B. Hammons.
In
lieu of flowers memorials can be made to United Methodist Children's Home or
the charity of your choice.

So sorry to hear of Tom’s death. We found out about 30 minutes ago. We cherish the great memories of Tom’s years at Hanceville FUMC. He was a great man of faith, a dedicated community servant and a special friend.
