Annie Pearl Watkins, 88 of Athens, Alabama, died Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Mrs. Watkins was born October 17, 1934 in Limestone County and she was a homemaker. Services will be 3:30pm Saturday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Jimmy Thrasher officiating, burial in Sylone Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 6pm until 9pm at Spry Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Corey Robertson, William Carter, Jason Crow, Hayden Clem, Danny Watkins and Randy Watkins. Chris Tucker, James Watkins, Mitchell Robertson and Jason Turner are Honorary Pallbearers.

Survivors: Son, John Watkins of Athens. Daughters, Elizabeth Crow of Athens, Brenda Long of Athens and Susan Stubb of Priceville, AL. Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren. Sisters: Virginia Keyes of Athens, Elouise Murell of Elkmont and Mary Pruitt of Cullman. Brothers, Anthony Motter of Athens, Leroy Motter of Elkmont and Donnie Motter of Elkmont.

Preceded in death by: Husband: Charles Watkins. Sons, Wayne Watkins, James Watkins, Jerry Watkins and Michael Watkins.

I just came across this page as I was searching for a friend's address. I am heartbroken to learn of Terry's passing. I worked with him at the hospital, and he was such a great person. He was smart, funny, compassionate, genuine, and always thoughtful. He would message me every so often (after I changed jobs) to check on me and my family and see how my kids were doing. I knew I hadn't heard from him in awhile. 😥He will certainly be missed. He was a beautiful soul here on Earth.
