Solen Delwood Pitts, 87 of Athens, AL died Saturday, August 17 2024 at his residence.

He was born August 16, 1937 in Rogersville, AL to Leslie & Alma Hill Pitts. He was a Member of Nebo Church and Owner and Operator of Pitts Auto parts.

Services will be Wednesday, 1 PM at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Norman officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6-9pm at Spry Funeral Home.

Survivors include, Wife, Dean Pitts of Athens, AL, Sons, Johnny Pitts (Peggy) of Athens, AL, Jimmy Pitts (Tammy) of Athens, AL, Mac Jones (Lesa) of Ardmore, TN, Daughter, Anna Marie Pitts Ristau (Robert) of Athens, AL, Brothers, Bonnie Pitts of Athens, AL, Lee Bradford of Athens, AL, 6 Grandchildren & 12 Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be, Jimmy Gatlin Sr., Cameron Pitts, Ronnie Green, Tony Coffman Sr. Tony Coffman Jr. Devin Appleton & Jason Appleton.

I will always remember Dee as such a caring and devoting person. She came into my life when she married my father Garland, when I was twelve years old. I know that she enhanced my father's life greatly and together, they were a complete couple. Over the years I visited Dee and my father in Alabama, I was fortunate to see their relationship grow and see what a comfort Dee was to my father. It was also wonderful for me to see Dee's relationship with Kayla grow over the years from a little beauty queen to a caring and devoted mother to her children and granddaughter to her Nana.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who loved and cared for Dee, for she will be missed.
