Mrs. Shirley Dean Mefford, 78 of Athens, AL died Friday, September 18, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born July 4, 1942 in Limestone Co. AL to Elmer & Inez Putman. She was a Member of The First Church, Athens, AL and retired from Athens City School System.

Preceded in death by husbands, Buford Lee Pylant Jr. & J.D. Mefford, Son, Michael Pylant.

Services will be Tuesday, 2 PM at the First Church, Athens, AL with Bruce Johnson & Dr. Rick Craft officiating.  Body will lie in state 1 PM until 2 PM at the Church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 6 PM until 8 PM at Spry Funeral Home.

Survivors include, Sons, Barry Pylant (Tina) of Athens, AL, Randy Mefford (Shelia) of Cullman, AL Daughters, Dana Goolsby (Carl) of Elkmont, AL, Amanda Blankenship (Rick) of Athens, AL, Soyna Frix of Athens, AL, Debbie Pierce of Smith Station, AL, Brother, Dale Putman of Athens, AL, Sisters, Laura Naves of Athens, AL, Bettye Rice of Athens, AL, Barbara Bennett of Athens, AL, Marcia Putman of Athens, AL, Kay Rice of Athens, AL, Zebbra Green of Athens, AL, 15 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren & 1 Great Great Grandson.

Grandsons will be Pallbearers.
