John Calib Norman age 78 of Athens died Friday at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Norman was born March 26, 1942 in Lawrence County, Tennessee. Bro. Norman was pastor of Owens Crossroads Baptist church in Athens, Alabama. He retired as a corrugated box designer.

Services will be 11 am Wednesday in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with Pat Lawrence and Dakota Ball officiating, burial to follow in Sardis Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Spry Funeral Home. Hunter Dildine, Grayson Ball. Hunter Camp, Nathan Norman, Waylon Norman and Seth Lawrence will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Norman of Athens. Son: Robert (Mary) Norman of Toney, Alabama. Daughters, Rebecca (Pat) Lawrence of Athens. Sue (Chris) Owens of Elkmont. Grandchildren, Seth (Carla) Lawrence. Waylon (Kriston) Norman, Hannah Lawrence (Cody) Smith. Emily (Chris) Casey, and Nathan (Fran) Norman. Great Grandchildren, Cynthia Norman, Amy Grace Norman, Cody Rogers, Jasper Rogers, Piper Lawrence, Everly Norman and Lydia Smith.

Mr Norman is survived by three Brothers, and six Sisters. He was preceded in death by, Parents, Jack and Ethel Norman. Sister, Willa Alred and Brother, Charles Norman.

Sad for Betty and the children but rejoicing for John, a warrior in the faith and now gone home. We have many joyous memories of days long past.
