Shelby Jean Hamilton Nixon, 79 of Athens, Alabama, died Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Athens-Limestone Hospital.

Services will be 2pm Saturday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Don Lee and Kasey Harbin officiating with burial in Ripley Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1pm until service Saturday at Spry Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John Mark Ham, Mark Ham, Wayne Hancock, Allen Taylor, Chad Posey, Cooper Posey, Elam Posey and Brett Posey.

Mrs. Nixon was born August 18, 1941 in Limestone County, she was a member of Sunnyhill Church of Christ and a former Volunteer for the Red Cross.

Survivors: Husband: Mahlon Nixon of Athens; Daughters: Beth (Mark) Ham of Athens and Crystal (Wayne) Hancock of Athens; Grandchildren: Laci Ham, John Mark (Amy) Ham, Hannah (Allen) Taylor and Hope Hancock; Great Grandchildren: Emmett and Ellie Ham. Several Nieces and Nephews whom she loved dearly.

Preceded in death by: Parents: Buster and Ruby Hamilton; Four Brothers and One Sister.
