Gene Smith, 72 of Athens, Alabama, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at
Athens-Limestone Hospital.
There will be a 2pm Graveside Service Friday at
Dement Cemetery with James Turner and Mike Green officiating.
Visitation is
from 5pm until 8pm Thursday at Spry Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was born July 3,
1949 in Alabama, he was a member of Round Island Baptist Church and he was
retired from CO-OP.
Survivors: Wife: Anner Mae Smith of Athens; Son: Donnie
Smith of Athens; Daughter: Thersa Smith of Athens; Brothers: Ronald Smith of
Athens, Larry Smith of Limestone, TN, Jerry Naylor of Athens and Allan Naylor
of Athens; Sisters: Deborah Dobbs of Athens, Darlene Gatlin of Athens and Jody
Sibley of Mt. Hope, AL; Granddaughter: Charity Smith of Athens.
