Edith Mae Waddell, 88 of Athens, Alabama, died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Limestone Health Facility.

Mrs. Waddell was born August 12, 1933 in Limestone County, Alabama, she was a member of Sardis Spring Church of Christ and she was retired from Athens Garment. She was a professional seamstress, gardener, canner and Dulcimer player.

Services will be 11am Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Butler officiating with burial in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10am until service Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hardiman, Harold Johns, Josh Hartsell, Anthony Claxton, Spencer Miller and Joseph Lozada.

Honorary Pallbearers are Nicki Johns, Katelyn Waddell, Brittany Hartsell, Christopher Waddell, Hunter Hardiman and Anna Hardiman.

Survivors: Husband, Talmadge Waddell of Athens. Daughter, Phillis (Antony) Claxton of Athens. Sons, Danny Waddell of Athens and Toby (B.J.) Waddell of Athens. Grandchildren, Nicki Johns, Jonathan Hardiman, Katelyn Waddell, Brittany Hartsell and Christopher Waddell. Great Grandchildren, Hunter Hardiman and Anna Hardiman. Brothers, Ray Miller of Athens and Wayne Miller of Whitehouse, TN. Sister: Wanda Butler of Vincent, AL. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Buford and Costella Miller. Brothers, Bobby Miller and Larry Miller. Sister, Faye Lazada. Grandson, Lance Waddell. Daughter-in-law, Pam Waddell.
