Renee, Haley, Hannah, and Hope,

I loved your husband and dad! I considered it a honor to serve with him here at FBCA! In 44 years of ministry I can honestly say he was the best children's pastor with whom I have ever served. He loved telling boys and girls about Jesus! He loved ya'll so much. He was so proud of each of his daughters!

Craig and Ms. Wilma,
Praying for you all as well. I bet David was a "fun" brother to grow up with in the Carter household! Ms. Wilma probably had her hands full with you all.

Teresa and I send our love, our prayers, and in these strange times I give you each a huge virtual hug!

Thanks Brother Davis for helping lead our twin girls to Jesus and for this we are forever grateful to you. You were such an inspiration in showing how a Christian man should live his life. We will keep on telling people about Jesus here atFBCA and the surrounding communities until we see you again brother. Praying for your family and our church family during this time. 🙏

My heart and prayers go out to David's precious family. He reached out to me when I joined FBC & immediately made me feel "at home". He will be missed but his legacy will live on as he has changed the lives of so many.

Words cannot express how much we hurt for you and with you but we rejoice in knowing that Bro. David's passion for Christ was constant and his testimony was great. His testimony will live for generations to come. Your family is precious and we will pray for you now and in the days and months ahead.

Eli has spent every Wednesday night with David and just loved him! At last year’s Fiddlers Convention, we visited David’s booth at least 5 times to buy all of his Lego mini figures and super hero ornaments. David has been such a blessing to Eli and our whole family. We loved his big heart and his sense of humor. If he loved our family in such a big way, I can only imagine how much he loved you. He will be dearly missed. Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers. We’re here for you if you need anything at all.

Renee, Haley, Hannah, Hope, Craig, and Mrs. Carter,
We could not believe the word we received this past Sunday afternoon. Our hearts were devastated. David is the epitome of one who possessed a servant's heart and the woods are not full of such people. He was the same genuine Christ-like individual if you saw him in ministry at FBC, leading someone to saving faith in Jesus, reading a book to school children, being a Brookhill Elementary Breakfast Buddy, handling the PA and bumper music duties at AHS basketball games, out in the community, having fun in VBS, .....the list just goes on and on. He loved his LORD and shared that with everyone with whom he came in contact. He was so gracious to help us in Children's Ministry at a sister church. He always found time to offer encouragement, advice, and suggestions, even when his own plate was completely full. In all our years of ministry, David was one of the best friends we have ever had among pastors at other churches.
In speaking with our son this week, we came to know that David and Renee had opened their home to him during a youth camp in which he served as a counselor. We are so touched to know that your family ministered to one of our own children and we didn't even know it. That story will be retold in different lives and families in the days to come.
Although there are no words which will ease the pain of your hearts, please know that we will be praying for you. God gave us the privilege of being a friend of David Carter and our lives will never be the same because of it.
