Marion (Pat) Patterson Roberts, 84 of Athens, Alabama, died
Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville.
Mr. Roberts
was born September 23, 1940 in Limestone County, he was a member of First
Baptist Church, he was a man of faith, a follower of Jesus Christ. He was a
retired Engineer with the U.S. Army. Mr. Roberts worked on the Space Station,
Space Shuttle, Intercontinental Ballistics Missile. He was Co-Founder of the
Optimist Club in Athens. He was a 1958 graduate of West Limestone High School,
where he was a member of the State Championship Football Team. He was a
graduate of Auburn University, an Avid Golfer.
Services will be Sunday 3pm at
First Baptist Church with Kevin Ward, Joe Teal and Keenan Braden officiating,
burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 1pm until service at the
church. Spry Funeral Home in Athens is directing.
Pallbearers will be Reid
Roberts, Austin Roberts, Chris Hernandez-Kinney, Justin Williams, Dhalquille
Eichelberger and Rob Hamill. Honorary Pallbearers are The Roberts-Collum Sunday
School Class.
Survivors: Wife, Wanda Roberts of Athens. Daughters, Lea Kinney
of Athens and Debra Roberts of Athens. Fourteen Grandchildren. Twelve Great
Grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by: Wife of 47
years, Thadine (Sadie) Roberts. Son, George Alan Roberts. Parents. Dee and
Ollie Mai Roberts. Brother, L. T. Roberts. Sisters, Verna Harrison and Laura
Smith.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Gabe was a wonderful man. I loved to hear him pick his guitar and sing. He had an amazing voice! Now he's singing with the angels! I pray that God wraps his arms around you all and gives you the strength and comfort to get through this difficult time .
