Marilyn S. Murphy 85 of Athens, AL passed away July 24, 2021 at her residence.

Services will be Tuesday July 27, 2021 at 3 PM at Spry Funeral Home with Jimmy Clark and Trent Thornton officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 PM until Service time .

Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Athens,AL.

She was born August 28, 1935 to Herlin and Marie Goud Smith in Willete,TN. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ and retired from the Army Missel Command at Redstone Arsenal. She is survived by, Husband: Elmer Joe Murphy of Athens, Daughters: Laura Marie Murphy of Rogersville, AL, Joy Frazier of Ardmore, AL, Son: Bradley Wayne Murphy of Athens, AL, 8 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, Sister: Sharon L. Tyon of Rogersville,AL, and Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother,and sister.

Pallbearers will be Heath Murphy, Travis Murphy, Zachary Posey, Trent Thornton, Trever Thornton, and Jesse Shoulders. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mickey Thornton.
