Marcus Neal Legg, 63 of Jackson Gap, Alabama, died Monday, April 1, 2024 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Services will be 2PM Friday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with burial in O’Neal Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday 12noon until 2PM at Spry Funeral Home.

Mr. Legg was born November 16, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a member of the Baptist Church and he was a Carpenter.

Survivors: Daughter: Amy (Matt) Dubois of Athens; Son: Johnathan (Haley) Legg of Athens; Brother: Hollis Legg of Rogersville; Sister: Lou Jean Jones of Athens; Special Friend: Patricia Bellino of Jackson Gap; Five Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: Parents: John Newton and Alice Irene Legg; Brother: Larry Dale Legg.

Always protective and ready to stand by those you loved. You were a very talented man - from woodworking to fixing cars and everything in between. I always knew that when I came to visit I'd get a great big hug and a huge smile from you. Thank you for loving my sister, Patty. I know that you too had so many plans together. She was her happiest with you by her side; building the life that you both wanted. This February when Dad passed I'll forever remember you coming in to say goodbye. He loved you as family. Our family gatherings won't be the same without you. I never imagined I'd be saying goodbye to you so soon. You'll forever be missed and will always be my brother-in-law. In our hearts forever, fly high.
