John William Motes, 89 of Lester, Alabama, died Thursday, April 11, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Motes was born October 30, 1934 in Madison County, Alabama, he was a member of Shoal Bluff Church of Christ in Minor Hill, TN. He is retired was from ConAgra, he was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and he was an avid Gardner.
Services will be 3pm Sunday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Scott Pepper officiating and burial in New Center Baptist Church Cemetery in Priceville, AL. Burial will be at 4:30 at the New Center Baptist Church Cemetery
Visitation is Sunday 1pm until service at the funeral home.
Survivors: Wife, Mildred. Son, Jonathan (Ramona) Motes of Lester. Daughters, Loretta (Steve) Coleman of Athens and Holly (Mike) Clem of Athens. Grandchildren, Janey (Jay) Grizzard, Jacob Motes, Riley Motes, Michael Anthony Morell, Matthew Clem and Hannah Clem. Great Granddaughter, Gianna Motes. Sisters, Betty Little of Florida and Linda Stewart of Madison, AL. Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by: Wife, Margaret Motes.

I am so sorry to hear about Charlotte's passing. We all know she is in a better place.
