Kathryn Dale Bates, 79 of Athens, Alabama, died Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Athens Limestone Hospital.

There will be a 11AM Private Graveside Service Saturday at Wallace Cemetery.

No Visitation is planned. Spry Funeral Home in Athens is directing.

Mrs. Bates was born January 12, 1945 in Texas and she was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors: Daughters: Tracy Pettie of Athens and Paige Crouch of Athens. Five Grandchildren; Two Great Grandchildren

I will always remember Dee as such a caring and devoting person. She came into my life when she married my father Garland, when I was twelve years old. I know that she enhanced my father's life greatly and together, they were a complete couple. Over the years I visited Dee and my father in Alabama, I was fortunate to see their relationship grow and see what a comfort Dee was to my father. It was also wonderful for me to see Dee's relationship with Kayla grow over the years from a little beauty queen to a caring and devoted mother to her children and granddaughter to her Nana.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who loved and cared for Dee, for she will be missed.
