Jewel Dean Hughes Greene, 84 of Athens, Alabama, died Thursday, August 8, 2024 at her residence.

Services will be 2PM Sunday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Jason Braden and Lynn Rager officiating and burial in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday 12noon until 2PM at Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Greene was born July 18, 1940 in Limestone County and she was a member of Locks Cross Roads Church of Christ for 62 years.

Survivors: Husband: Harold D. Greene of Athens; Daughters: Camilla Greene of Athens and Priscilla Hathcoat of Athens; Sisters: Elizabeth Hight of Athens, Margie Gold of Athens, Judy Johnson of Blanche, TN, Linda Pitts of Athens, Edna Garrett of Athens and Nancy Hughes of Athens.

Preceded in death by: Parents: Leon and Laura Hughes; Son: Anthony (Zack) Greene; Grandson: Grant Hathcoat; One Sister; Three Brothers. A special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama, Nurses, Lequita and Amanda.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Gabe was a wonderful man. I loved to hear him pick his guitar and sing. He had an amazing voice! Now he's singing with the angels! I pray that God wraps his arms around you all and gives you the strength and comfort to get through this difficult time .
