George Arthur Hamby Sr., 87 of Athens, Alabama, died
Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Hamby was born August 1, 1936 in
Limestone County, he was a member of Sardis Springs Church of Christ and he was
a retired Police Officer of the City of Athens.
Services will be 4pm Friday at
Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Eddie Littrell and Floyd Johnson
officiating, burial in Reunion Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday 6pm until 9pm
at Spry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Powers, Joe Mears, Glyn Usery,
Toby Waddell, Bill Boldin and Dwight Lovell.
Survivors: Wife, Inita W. Hamby of
Athens. Son, George Arthur Hamby Jr. of Athens. Daughters, Amy Yvonne Hamby of
Athens and Georgia Lynne Hamby of Athens. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded
in death by: Parents, Robert and Florence Hamby. Sister, Lucille Turner.
Brothers, James Henry Hamby and Sidney Thomas Hamby.

Ann was a dear friend and companion and i will remember her with much love and affection. I just found this while searching for her, as all my attempts to reach her by phone was to no avail i loved her then as i love her now. REST EASY SWEET LADY, I WILL NEVER FORGET ALL THE GOOD TIMES WE HAD DANCING AND DOING THE BUMP DANCE. GOD, PLEASE BLESS HER MEMORY, YOU WILL BE MISSED.
