Mrs. Alta Wynell Barnett, 95 of
Rogersville, Alabama, died Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at her residence.
Mrs.
Barnett was born September 7, 1924 in Lauderdale County. She was a member of
Rogersville Church of Christ and a retired school teacher from Lauderdale
County Schools, with the majority of her teaching at Anderson School. She spent
many years working with her husband Robert and her brothers on their cattle
farm. She was a graduate of Athens State College.
Funeral Services will be 11am
Thursday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Alex Bayes officiating,
burial in Miller Cemetery in Rogersville.
Visitation is from 10am until service
Thursday at the funeral home.
Grandsons and Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister who loved her family. Survivors:
Daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Cornelius of Rogersville, her son, Archie (Vickie)
Barnett of Athens; her brothers, Lowell Snoddy of Huntsville and Harry (Jerald
Dean) Snoddy of Rogersville; four grandsons, Rob (Becky) Cornelius, Gene
Barnett, Eric (Peggy) Cornelius, Jay (Alison) Cornelius; eleven
great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Mrs. Barnett was preceded in
death by husband, Robert, her parents, Felix and Velma Snoddy, sister, Robbie
Nugent, and brother, David Snoddy. The family extends a special thanks to her
doctors and Kindred Hospice for their kindness and help. Memorials may be made
to your favorite charities.
