William Nelson Evans Jr., 69 of Athens, Alabama, died Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his residence.

Mr. Evans was born December 17, 1954 in Indianola, Mississippi, he was a member of Friendship Methodist Church. He was retired as a Oilfield Consultant, he a member of the Sons of Confederacy and he was a avid Arrowhead Collector.

Memorial service will be Saturday March 2, 2024 at 11 am in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home with Steve Dorning officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until service.

Survivors: Son, William Blake Evans of Athens. Brother, David (Dara) Evans of Athens. Sister, Susan Taylor of Russellville, KY. Nieces and Nephews. Great Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by Parents, William (Bill) Evans and Evelyn D. Evans.

I loved her. I didn’t know her until I was incarcerated with her and you really get to know a person when you’re inside of those walls. We all make mistakes in life, or do things we regret. But, friends like her, she always made me feel like I was important and forgiven. Long live Tammy Doss

Tammy, I don’t know what to say. I battled whether or not to contact you while being held w/ out bail. I guess God made that decision for me. I only pray you found some sort of peace before you left this world. That’s my prayer for you.
