Joyce Lee Lovell, 89 of Athens, Alabama, died Friday, May 3, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Lovell was born May 14, 1934 in Lauderdale County, She was a member of Coxey Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, an avid Quilter, enjoyed Crossword, Jigsaw Puzzles and Reading.

Services will be 11am Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Chris Olive and Daniel Ridinger officiating, burial in Dement Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday 6pm until 9pm at Spry Funeral Home.

Survivors: Daughter, Nancy (Keith) Childers of Athens. Sons, Daniel (Sharon) Lovell of Ft. Wayne, Ind., John (Velma) Lovell of Athens. Brother, Wayne Lentz of Rogersville. Grandchildren, Matthew Lovell of Athens, Erica Lovell of Huntsville, Emily Lovell of Huntsville and Travis Childers of Murfreesboro, TN. Several Great Grandchildren. One Great Great Grandchild. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by: Husband, Ralph (Buster) Lovell. Grandson, Lucas Lovell.

Pallbearers: Matthew Lovell, Tyler Cancel, Morris Lentz, Brannon Lentz, David McPherson and Ben McPherson

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

I'm at Jonathan at America's thrift store he was my supervisor he helped me survive an abusive relationship and we have been friends ever since I sure hate to hear this sad news the world will surely miss a wonderful man love you Jonathan see you in heaven my friend

I'm so sorry to hear about Jonathan. I remember him being such a sweet little boy in my class. I saw him at the ballfield not long ago He seemed as though he was doing well. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Jonathan was the first person I met when I moved to Athens. He was always full of life, and loved living life to the fullest. He brought joy to all those around him.He will be missed.
