Gene was a great guy, a friend and did a lot to help people. When I came to Athens first and needed to visit some friends I had seen the day before, and got lost; I pulled into a parking lot, and a red Kia was coming out. I flagged it down and the window rolled down, and it was Gene. He was one of those friends from the day before. He drove by the location I was seeking, just to show me the way. He will be missed by his friends In Athens, as well as his family. May The Almighty rest his soul, and comfort his loved ones, a day at a time, from now on.
