Sylvia Willodean Willis age 87 of Athens passed away Sunday at Athens Limestone Hospital.

Mrs. Willis was born July 2, 1936 in Lauderdale County, she was retired from ConAgra and attended Poplar Creek Baptist Church.

Graveside service will be 11 am Thursday at Sardis Springs Cemetery with Charles Simmons officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6- 9 pm at Spry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Willis is survived by two Sons, Bobby Willis and Horace Willis both of Athens. Grandchildren, Marissa Willis of Athens. Morgan Willis of Athens. Shane Flowers of Lewisburg, Tennessee, and Shawn Flowers of Brundidge, Alabama. Great Granddaughter, Lenox Flowers. Nieces, Belinda Flowers of Pulaski, Tennessee. Sherry Goodin of Athens. Nephews, Marty Thornton of Athens. Bryan Brewer of Tennessee, and several other Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her Husband, John Willis and Son, David Willis.

Nancy was always a sweetheart! Very thoughtful, fun and generous friend! So many wonderful memories. We went to Bama together, sorority sisters, lived in CO at the same time. I moved back to TN Nashville and she to Athens. I’d come see visit her from time to time early on in my young adult life. It was Always fun! I moved back to Boulder 11 years ago. So didn’t stay in touch but We’d exchange holiday cards. What a Beautiful gal, heart & soul!!! All my love!! Gina Grivich Farrar

Nancy was a smart, attractive women. I always enjoyed talking to her. I am so sorry she left so young. My sincerest sympathy to her Mom.
