Sarah Margaret
Webb Patterson Butler went to meet our Lord on April 13, 2023 in Columbia,
South Carolina. She was a loving, sharing, strong, and godly woman beloved by
her family and friends. She was born on June 22, 1930 to Sarah Ann Blackburn
Webb and James Porter Webb in Limestone County Alabama, where she lived most of
her life. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Winston Patterson and
Hearon Butler, her son Tim Patterson, her parents, her twin Marjorie May,
sister Bernice Johnson, brothers Walter Webb, Neeley Webb, Earnest Webb, Uyless
Webb, Carlos Webb, James (Buddy) Webb, Allison Webb, and Royce Webb. She is
survived by her daughter Diana Patterson Trent (Steve), granddaughter Chloe
Spencer Merrell (Chris), great granddaughter Aurora Merrell, sister Jeannette
Stinnett, brother Paul Webb, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Margaret
was a very loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who
will be greatly missed. She was a caring and encouraging friend to many,
including a very special group of kind caregivers who took wonderful care of
her at Rice Estate Assisted Living in Columbia, South Carolina. She was a very
kind, hardworking lady who inspired others and excelled in all aspects of her
life.
She was a
long time member of Northside Church of Christ in Athens and a faithful
Christian who loved God and enjoyed reading her Bible daily. She will lie
in rest at Spry Funeral Home in Athens, AL with visitation on Wednesday, April
19, 2023, from 10:00 to 10:30 am followed by a brief graveside service at 11:00
am at Roselawn Cemetery with Tee Jackson officiating. Memorials may be to Lewy
