Dement Crabtree, 80 of formerly of Athens, died Sunday, August 2,2020, in Huntsville, Alabama.
Ms Crabtree was born December 27, 1939 in
Limestone County, Alabama. She married USN (Ret) RMC Edward Leon Crabtree on
November 27, 1965, in Athens, Alabama. They divorced July 23, 1979.
She graduated from Athens High School. She attended North Alabama College of Commerce. She lived in California, Hawaii, and Ethiopia as a Navy wife. She was retired from Sara Lee Corporation. She moved to her daughter's home in 2016.
She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla
Adams-DuMont, of Huntsville, Alabama, her granddaughter, Noelani, Huntsville,
Alabama, her son, Patrick Crabtree, his children, Toby and
Rachel, Greeneville, Tennessee, and her son, USA MAJ (Ret) Philip Crabtree, and his children, Bailey, Savannah,
Hunter, and Mollie. She is also survived by her brother, Robert
"Bobby" Dement, of Athens, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John "Monroe"
Dement Jr and Virginia "Madolin" Adams Dement, her brother,
John Monroe DeMent III, and her sister, Betty Ann Dement.
Family and friends will gather at the burial. Burial is in Legg Cemetery, Leggtown, Limestone County, Alabama. Spry Funeral Home in Athens is
directing.
