Doris Evelyn Swanner, 84 of Athens, Alabama, died Thursday, August 1, 2019 at her residence.

Services will be 11am Monday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Lovell officiating, burial in Reunion Cemetery, visitation is from 6pm-9pm Sunday at Spry Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Christopher Brumlow, Luther Swanner, David Shearon, Dexter Barnette, Gene Scoggins and Zachary Lovell.

Mrs. Swanner was born March 12, 1935 in Limestone County and she was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Temple. Survivors: Daughters: Marjorie Davis (Will) of Desoto, Texas, Mary Ann Smith of Ardmore, Alabama, Myra Swanner (Jack) of Athens, Alabama, Martha Lovell of Athens, Alabama, Katie Barnette of Elkmont, Alabama and Velena Lovell of Athens, Alabama. Sons: Marian Lovell of Elkmont, Alabama, Mike Lovell of Toney, Alabama and Zachary Lovell of Athens, Alabama. Brothers: Billie Roberson of Ardmore, Alabama, Danny Roberson of Ardmore, Alabama and Randy Joe Roberson of Athens, Alabama. Sister: Deloris Vickers of Pulaski, Tennessee. Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: Parents: Mac and Ellen Roberson. Brothers: Bobby Roberson and Lloyd Roberson. Grandparents: James and Bessie Nye.

I want to send my condolences to this family! I pray for family! Amazing people and would do anything for anyone! Him and his wife were so precious!
I could go on and on talking about all the good in Joe!
If you Know Joe or the family you all know this is true! I admired their love for each other!
