Barry Lynn Stanford of Athens, Alabama, passed away on
Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age of 65.
He was born November 9, 1957 in Cleveland,
Ohio to J. C. Stanford Jr. and Greta Ann Patterson Stanford both of Athens.
His
parents precede Barry in death.
He is survived by his sons, Lucas Wayne
Stanford of Athens and Clinton Thomas Stanford (Kristina) of Athens. Four
grandchildren: Carson Muse of Florida, Aubree, Jagger and Delaney Stanford of
Athens. Brothers: James Randy Stanford (Vicki), Donnie Ray Stanford (Daveen)
and Todd Roger Stanford. And sister: Belinda Stanford Cottles (Ronnie)
all of Athens. He has so many Nieces and Nephews that adored him.
Barry was
retiree from Federal Mogul (25 years) and a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves
(Sargent, 326 Chemical Company, Huntsville, Alabama). He was Church of Christ
member, he loved playing with his grandchildren. Grilling out with family and
friends, watching Si-Fi movies, a Star Trek enthusiast and a lifetime Alabama
Crimson Tide Fan.
Friends are welcome to attend the graveside service 11:00am
Saturday at the Poplar Creek Cemetery on Snake Road, Athens, Alabama. Andy John
King will present the graveside services.
Pallbearers will be James Stanford,
Donnie Stanford, Todd Stanford, Clint Stanford, Lucas Stanford, Matthew Stanford, Carson Muse and
Jagger Stanford (alternate), Cody Arnold (Alternate). Those whom would like to
send flowers can send to Spry Funeral Home in Athens.
