Lila Jean Wales, 70 of Athens, passed away Friday June 11, 2021 .

Services will be Tuesday June 15. 2021 at 11AM at Spry Funeral Home with Bud White officiating.

Visitation will be 9:30 until Service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by Husband: Billie W. Wales of Athens, Son: Billie W. Wales Jr. of Athens, Daughter: Heather (Nick) Harvey of Athens, Sisters: Barbara Pope of Athens, Nancy Abernathy of Athens, Grandchildren: Eli, Mason and Melody. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ, and retired from Limestone County Commission.

Pallbearers will be Jerald Abernathy, Paul King, Eric Burke, Henry Wales, Eric Partridge, and Nick Harvey.

Kirk, I was just going through some old cards and notes of my Mother, Mildred Thornton, from your Mother! So many fond memories of them, our Dads and thinking of all the fun they had together.
I hope you and your family are doing well!
My husband Ellis and I live in Birmingham. Hoover to be exact. We moved back in January of 2020. We lived in Baton Rouge for 22 years. My two children, Abbey and Harry Blalock live in Birmingham now too.
