On Thursday December 17, 2020 William Jackson Burns Sr.
passed away at the age of 83. William was born to Everett and Clora Burns March
2, 1937 in Limestone County.
He is survived by his wife Melanie Anne Burns of
60 years. Two Sons, William Jackson Burns Jr. (Laura). John David Burns (Lisa).
One Daughter, Melanie Grace Welch (Richard). One Sister, Joyce Ann Zurek.
Nieces and Nephews. Eight Grandchildren, and five Great Grandchildren.
William
served four years in the U.S Navy, worked 36 years for Illinois Central
Railroad, he was a 1955 graduate of Tanner High School. Jack Loved people and
shared his garden abundance with neighbors and friends. He was a member of
Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by brothers, James, Aaron, Gerald
and Houston. Sisters, Christine Miller, Robbie Burrough and Betty Burns.
Due to Covid 19 there will be no public viewing. There will
be a private family burial at Miller Cemetery.
