Beverlye Gay Clevenger Conn passed
away Thursday, February 2nd of 2023. Beverlye, known by loved ones as “Bev”,
was born on Valentine’s Day 1961 in Anniston, AL to Orliss & Frances
Clevenger. Growing up Bev was known for academic achievements as well as her
beauty and athletic abilities. She was a cheerleader, gymnast, and a beauty
queen. Her friends from school recall her always making people feel accepted no
matter what- she was pretty and popular but never acted that way.
She
graduated with her associates from Gadsden State Community College and spent
her professional career in sales and spent time as a legal assistant. Bev met
her husband of almost 31 years, David, at a bar where he was teaching ballroom
dancing after she moved to Huntsville. They wed the 8th of February 1992 and
went on to have two daughters, Ashley & Kara. After settling in Southside,
AL to be closer to her family, Bev took on a life as a stay-at-home mother and
was very involved in her children’s school activities and sports. She even
helped coach the city league cheerleading squad and became a substitute teacher
in her local school system.
Bev loved
spending time with her family. Especially summers at her father’s house at the
end of the street. We all have many memories of her doing back flips off the
diving board, making beautiful cakes, and throwing the best parties. Bev had a
creative spirit and an artistic eye and had a way of blowing you away with the
celebrations she would throw and the art she would create.
Beverlye
will always be remembered for her infectious spirit and ability to make you
laugh in every moment.
Beverlye is
proceeded in death by her mother, Frances Clevenger and her sister, Charlotte
Clevenger. She is survived by her husband, David Conn; daughters and
son-in-law, Kara Conn and Ashley (Conn) Mackey & Josh Mackey; father,
Orliss Clevenger and his wife, Kim Clevenger; brother, Buzzy Clevenger;
grandchildren, Rory & Everett Mackey; niece, Chamblee Clevenger. She also
leaves behind her beloved dogs, Frankie & Jazmine and their fleet of 5 lab
puppies.

So sorry to hear about Doris, she was always such a joy to be around. I know she's happy to be united with her Freddie, I never met him but felt like I knew him because Doris was always talking about him and the rest of the family, she dearly loved. My prayers goes out to her precious family.
