Patricia, "Trish" was a long-time resident of Front Royal, Virginia. She passed peacefully in her home in
Athens, Alabama where she resided with her daughter. Patricia fought a four-year battle with cancer, beating two. Her resolve and fortitude were strong, and she is now healed forever!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Cora Prather, and longtime life partner, Jerry Ellis.
She is survived by three children, Glenn (Ann) Marshall, Bryan (Carol) Marshall, and Tracy (Buddy) Helmick. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Christina Marshall, Damien Pettie, Glenn (Bethany) Marshall Jr, Danielle (Kenneth) Compton and William Marshall. Also surviving are thirteen great grandchildren: Lily and Cora Mashburn, Tristen Sine, Stephanie Brown, Karlie Woods, Justin Marshall, Calvin and Lizzy Pettie, Aiden Marshall, Natalie Marshall, Skylin Compton, Ethan Pettie and Colton Compton.
Trish lovingly worked in her yard and flower gardens at her home on the at the corner of North Royal Ave.
and Fairview Ct. for over forty years. She was very proud and enjoyed working with her flowers. Many people would stop to admire her handiwork. Her kindness, sense of humor, and love for all things fashion also defined her. Her beloved chihuahua, Sandy, was faithfully by her side as she left this world for her Heavenly home.
There will be Memorial Visitation Saturday, October 26 from 5PM until 7PM at New Life Assembly of God 16768 Highway 72 in Athens, Alabama.
My condolences anr care to Buddy and Tracy Helmick and family. We don't mourn like the world mourns, we have an assurance. God bless, comfort and grant peace.

Trish was a sweetie. Her smile was contagious. She is home, healthy and working in God's garden.

Miz Pat - I shall treasure our 4th of July jaunt from Dillon, GA to SC and back thru the mountainous "back roads" just to see where they lead. You were such a trooper. I think the highlight of that trip for you was watching the mama bear and her 3 cubs trying to decide if they were going to cross the road or not. Now you can watch God's fireworks without a tree line to block the view. Now no tears nor pain for you. Your friends and family will deeply miss you yet celebrate your Homecoming.

Blessings to the family of dear sweet Ms. Pat. I met her through her beloved daughter Tracy (who befriended me at training in West Virginia, visited me in Virginia and invited me into their home). I live in Texas and still stay in contact with the family. Good friends are a gift from God. Ms. Pat and I shared a love of fashion and clothes. Rest well, dear lady.
