Johnny Gilbert McClung, 77 of Athens, Alabama, died Monday, February 5, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. McClung was born December 10, 1946 in Limestone County, he was a Servant of Christ. He was retired from Mutual Savings Life Insurance.
Services will be 2pm Thursday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Tom McClung and Tyler McClung officiating and burial in O’Neal Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday 5pm until 8pm at Spry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tom McClung, Tyler McClung, Jack Boyd, Matthew Young, Charlie Sanford and Bryan Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Anna McClung, Samantha Young and Katelyn Williams.
Survivors: Wife, Cheryl McClung of Athens. Son, Tommy L. McClung of Athens. Daughter, Sara J. McClung of Athens. Brother, Tommy G. McClung of Athens. Grandchildren, Tyler McClung of Athens, Anna McClung of Athens and Jack Boyd of Athens. Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Tommy H. and Myra McClung. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer Association.

Very good friend, John and I had some good times...We built his shed I designed...I have a sawmill & we would saw lumber....He gave me a bee hive ..we raised bees together...He will be missed.....Craig Alexander
