Alvin Lenior Robison
The funeral for Alvin Lenior Robison, 87, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spry Funeral Home with Bill Hall, Bobby Hall and Sam Binkley Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 5:30-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Robison died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Alvin Robison was born April 21, 1924, in Limestone County. He retired from Redstone Arsenal and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Robison was a member of Pepper Road Church of Christ in Athens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae Pepper Robison; 12 brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Steve Pettus.
Survivors include sons, Frank Robison and wife Eva King, and Al Robison and wife Sherry Coriell, all of Athens; daughters, Gayle Williams and husband Pete, Joan Bullington and husband Bobby, and Eva Pettus and husband Steve, all of Athens, and Ann Hall and husband Bobby of Gainesville, Ga.; brother, Glynn Robison of Kansas City, Kan.; sisters, Roberta Hamilton of Athens and Dean Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Heath Robison, Adam Robison, Kerry Robison, Chad Bullington, Gary Long and David Burrell. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Williams, Clay Stroud, Ashley Hall, Brian Smith, Adam Miller and Josh Davis.
