Emma Jean McElyea, 96 of Athens,
Alabama, died Monday, May 1, 2023 at Limestone Health Facility.
Mrs. McElyea
was born May 18, 1926 in Lauderdale County and she was a member of Mt. Carmel
Church of Christ.
There will be a 3PM Graveside Service Thursday at Dement
Cemetery with Oddis Duncan officiating.
No Visitation is planned.
Pallbearers
will be Tommy McLemore, Allen Brown, James McElyea, Larry Chittam, Steve
Garner, Bill Jackson, Lester Wallace and Wes McLemore. Ed McLemore and Josh
Rhodes are Honorary Pallbearers.
Survivors: Nephews: John T. McLemore of
Florence and Edward Ray McLemore of Scottsboro. Preceded in death by: Husband:
George Milon McElyea; Nephew: William Douglas McLemore; Sister: Levonia
McLemore; Niece: Betty Jackson.
